If the PVG is being used on a residential gas water heater that is either a thermocouple or thermopile type gas valve, then the CK-20FV would be used to adapt the water heater to the PVG only on the power side of the PVG. The 24 volt control side would not be used unless the water heater is a commercial type of water heater with a 24 volt gas valve. If the water heater is a 24 volt unit, then the hot leg to the gas valve will be cut to feed into T1 and T3 would return back to the hot side of the gas valve, and T2 would be spliced into the common side of the gas valve.
